RCNC membership consists of 2 categories: Member and Honorary Member. These are further divided thus:

Members are serving MOD civil servants and are assigned either:

  • Associate Member – those that do not meet the requirements of Full member
  • Full Member - members who fully satisfy the requirement of a member of the RCNC

  • Industry Member – serving in the naval sector who satisfy the requirement of Full Member
  • Special Member – invited by Head of RCNC in recognition of their support to naval engineering
  • Retired Member – any member who has retired.

Associate members: are engineers or scientists who do not meet the requirements expected of a Full member but can demonstrate they are on a path to do so or have achieved a level of experience and responsibility that the RCNC council considers to be significant. This category includes graduates or apprentices destined to be C.Eng or I.Eng professionals.
